Florida Workers Compensation Premiums to rise 7.8% in 2011

Effective January 1, 2011 Florida workers compensation premiums will go up by 7.8%.  NCCI had requested an 8.3% increase.  Workers compensation premiums have been declining since 2003, when the state enacted insurance reforms.

After this increase Florida will still have the lowest workers compensation rates in the southeast and is one of the top 10 states with the lowest premiums in the nation.
