After a meeting with the owner, SourceOne Partners analyzed all of the billing reports, as the client was unsure exactly how much he was paying. We also took a look at all the benefit plan designs being offered on renewal, and we saw that in addition to a large increase, the PEO was changing the plan design and reducing the level of benefits significantly.
SourceOne Partners put together a report analyzing the current costs vs. some other options. We showed how although workers compensation costs have gone down in the State by 50% in the prior 5 year period and they had no workers compensation claims in that period, their costs did not go down at all.
We partnered with a PEO that provided us with itemized billing, so they could see each pay period exactly what they were paying for. In addition SourceOne Partners implemented a program where we carved the medical insurance out of the PEO relationship to provide a stronger plan at a more reasonable cost by using a local carrier, that had all of the employees Dr.’s in the network.
After an initial consultation with the ownership, an analysis of the relationship with the current PEO was conducted. It was determined that the current PEO did not even sponsor their own health plan. The PEO was billing them a 5.4% SUTA rate, even though they only had one employee collect unemployment in the last 10 years.
After analyzing several alternatives, Source One Partners brought them together with a national PEO that provided health coverage with Blue Cross Blue Shield and provided just the right set of benefits for a company that was concerned with providing their loyal staff with excellent benefits as would be found at a large corporation.
The PEO came in and conducted a live enrollment with all the employees and took the time to answer their questions and make sure they were aware of all the benefits that were being offered to them.
In implementing Source One’s recommendation, the store was able to reduce costs while providing superior benefits to their employees.
After spending time with the owner reviewing the various options, the General Contractor selected a PEO that specialized in General Contractors. Many of the subcontractors were actually employees and SourceOne Partners went to the various jobsites, to assist the employees in filling out I-9 forms and the proper paperwork to become employees of the PEO. The company now has workers compensation insurance in place and can provide Certificates of Coverage when bidding on jobs and landed more lucrative commercial work.
